Low Carbon Technologies – The Art of a Sustainable Future

James Mckay, manager of the EPSRC CDT in Bioenergy, is leading a £25k funded project as part of the Royal Academy of Engineering INGENIOUS outreach scheme. The project is all about creating art to imagine a zero carbon future. Members of the public will be invited to send in short stories, paintings, films or songs based on a plausible future sci-fi vision where we have achieved a zero carbon future in the battle to prevent catastrophic climate change. First, the vision needs to be worked out. To this end, there will be a day-long workshop on 20th September, involving 100 engineers, climate scientists, Leeds City Council members, community groups, Engineering Institutes (e.g. IET), artists, writers and school children.

If you would like to take part in this, please get in touch with James at j.mckay@leeds.ac.uk.
